Why it matters
Smoke residue on the lens and mirrors absorbs and scatters the beam, so less energy reaches the material and cuts weaken — often mistaken for a failing tube.
Dirty rails and a clogged exhaust add drag and let fumes settle on the optics, compounding the problem. A short regular clean keeps the machine cutting the way it did new.
