Why it sticks

01
Sized to your roll

Punch in the roll radius and width — office tape, washi, packing, duct — and the cradle is cut to seat it snug. No guessing, no calipers-and-hope.

02
A blade to rip against

A slot sized for a standard utility blade sits at the front shelf, edge proud of the deck — so tape tears clean on a straight edge instead of a mangled thumb-pull.

03
Snap on as many bays as you want

Print one bay, print six — they press together peg-to-socket, so your desk caddy grows a lane every time you buy a new roll.

04
Gridfinity-ready

Flip on a Gridfinity base and each bay gets 42 mm feet on a footprint rounded to whole grid units — so the caddy locks into the baseplate already on your bench.

Stick with
the daddy.

// FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is The Tape Daddy?
It's a free 3D tape dispenser generator. You give it your tape roll's radius and width, and it builds a printable dispenser — a half-circle cradle that seats the roll and a slot for a blade to cut against.
Will it fit my tape?
Yes — that's the whole point. Office tape, washi, masking, packing or duct: enter the roll radius and width and the cradle is sized to seat it. Match an unusual roll by measuring it and typing the numbers in.
What do I get to print?
Export an STL of one snap-together dispenser bay, or a DXF of the flat side profile. Print one bay per roll and snap them side by side into a caddy as wide as you need.
How do the bays snap together?
Each side wall has a peg on one face and a socket on the other, using the same 3D-print clearance model as our Nut & Bolt generator. Pick tight, standard or loose to tune the press fit for your printer.
Does it work with Gridfinity?
Yes. Turn on the Gridfinity base and each bay is built with standard 42 mm feet, with its footprint rounded up to whole grid units, so the dispenser drops straight into any Gridfinity baseplate. Leave it off and you get a flat-bottomed caddy that sits on the bench.
What blade does it take?
A standard trapezoidal utility knife blade — roughly 61 mm long and 19 mm tall. The slot is sized from the blade's thickness plus your print clearance, and you set how far the cutting edge stands proud of the shelf.
Do I need an account?
Just an email to unlock the generator. It's free to use right here — no login, no plan. Signed-in Start Here users can also open it inside the app.
